A space created for sacred journeys
Magdalena was designed from the very beginning with sacred journeys in mind.
Every space aboard her has been considered not only for comfort and beauty, but also for the needs of spiritual groups — for ceremony, meditation, movement, sound, sharing, teaching, silence and, perhaps most importantly, integration.
We wanted those who bring their work aboard Magdalena to have the freedom to shape the spaces according to what their group needs in each moment.
For this reason, Magdalena offers three different spaces for group experiences, each carrying its own atmosphere.
The Temple Room
On the lower deck is our air-conditioned Temple Room — an intimate, dedicated space where groups can gather away from the outside world.
At its heart is a small altar, holding the energy and intention of the space. With every journey, meditation, prayer, ceremony and circle that takes place here, another layer is added to the story and energy of the room.
We believe that there is something very special about the groups who find their way to Magdalena. In our own understanding, Magdalene calls those who are meant to enter her temple upon the Nile, and each group leaves something beautiful behind for those who will follow.
The Temple Room is equipped to support many different forms of spiritual and transformational work. Meditation mats and cushions, oracle cards are available, together with a sound system and microphone. We also keep a collection of instruments for sound and energy work, including a crystal singing bowl, drum, tuning fork and other instruments that facilitators may incorporate into their work.
The Main Sun Deck
Our spacious main sun deck becomes a completely different kind of temple — one that is open to the Nile.
The furniture can be moved and rearranged according to the needs of each group, creating space for circles, teachings, meditation, yoga, movement, sound journeys or simply being together.
Here, the group can work outdoors while remaining protected in the shade, surrounded by fresh air and the constantly changing landscape of the river.
Yoga mats, floor mats and meditation cushions are available, as well as a sound system and microphone, allowing facilitators to bring their work outside whenever the moment calls for it.
The Upper Sun Deck
Our spacious main sun deck becomes a completely different kind of temple — one that is open to the Nile.

A Temple That Moves With You
We do not believe sacred work needs to happen within four walls.
Sometimes the group needs the intimacy and protection of the Temple Room. Sometimes it needs movement, air and spaciousness. And sometimes the most powerful temple is simply the open sky above and the Nile flowing quietly beside you.
This is why Magdalena was created with different spaces that can move with the rhythm of the journey and the needs of the group.
She is not simply a boat that hosts sacred journeys.
She was created for them.
